Gloria SanchezGloria Sanchez is an Incredible Years® (IY) program graduate in Adams County from seven years ago and has been a program facilitator for the last six years overseeing 12 Spanish speaking groups being delivered during that period of time. Gloria is a first generation Mexican-American woman born of immigrant parents. She grew up being the minority within a minority, in a gang infested neighborhood that targeted the Hispanic immigrant population. In spite of that, at a very young age she was taught to live without fear, prejudice or resentment.  At the age of 15, her family left the Golden State and relocated to a small rural town situated on the outskirts of El Paso, Texas. Once in Texas, her entire family – from the youngest to the oldest – helped to build their family home, where her parents currently still reside. Gloria graduated high school in 1995 and attended El Paso Community College where she received an Associate of Business Administration. In 2001, she married and chose Colorado as her new home. Gloria’s family is comprised of her husband, step-son and three children. She describes her family as being her engine and inspiration. Gloria’s personal interest include coloring and taking walks to decompress. Gloria loves her work as an IY Facilitator.

Amanda SmithAmanda Smith is a 2008 graduate of the Nurse Family Partnership® program. Amanda was referred to NFP at the age of 19, while she was pregnant and in an abusive relationship. Amanda credits the empowering advice and encouragement from her nurse, RN Valarie Carberry, to finding the courage to leave her abusive partner and flee to a homeless shelter. Amanda continued meeting with Valerie after her son Nolan was born until he turned 2 years old and they graduated from the program. Amanda finished her Associates degree at Red Rocks Community College and in 2016 Amanda went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from Regis University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Today Amanda is a busy mom of two (Nolan now 12 years old and Emma age 7) and wife working as a Project Manager at Physician Health Partners, LLC. located in Denver. She holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification as well as a Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification. Amanda manages projects involving Healthcare information management systems and patient data analytics platforms; as well as managing the implementation of a newly formed entity combining currently independent primary care practices to operate under one tax ID. Amanda was also involved as a supporting Project Manager in the implementation of two Colorado ACC RAE regions. Amanda enjoys her work contributing as a project manager making a difference by supporting the delivery of quality healthcare in Colorado and is looking for additional ways to serve in order to give back to the community. She hopes that her experiences will equip her with unique insights to help empower vulnerable mothers and children. Amanda lives in Wheat Ridge, Colorado with her husband, Brian, and her two children. Amanda’s children benefit from the life-transforming experience she gained through participation in the NFP.
