The 9th Annual Jane-A-Thon was a Huge Success!

On event day we had nearly $35,000 committed to the event, and we have already collected almost all of it! The skiers who participated this year truly went above and beyond to raise money to help Colorado children get off to a strong start in life. Skiers of all ages took to the slopes on March 8th and risked life and limb skiing as many as 30 runs at Mary Jane Mountain. Thank you to everyone who participated, sponsored or volunteered for the event. This was truly the best Jane-A-Thon we’ve seen yet, and we couldn’t have done it without everybody’s contributions.

The post-event party was a great way to celebrate the day and all participants (volunteers, skiers and sponsors alike) had tasty food and drinks to reward them after a hard day of skiing. During the party, awards and prizes were given out to many of the skiers and volunteers. We had the treat this year of welcoming Ehlias Louis to our event. He is a champion skier for the US Ski Team and has graciously offered to take the three top fundraising kids skiing for a day. This will be a once in a lifetime opportunity for the kids, and we thank Ehlias for his support of Invest in Kids.

We saw record amounts of fundraising this year. The top five fundraisers brought in over $10,000 themselves. We are excited to announce those five individuals and to thank them for their exceptional efforts to support the event. Every year the Jane-A-Thon gets better, and we are excited to continue this great event. Next year we will celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Jane-A-Thon, so mark March 14, 2009 on your calendars now. It is guaranteed to be another great event.
